Victoria Beckham to guest judge on 'Idol'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Former "Posh Spice" Victoria Beckham has agreed to a single guest appearance on the U.S. talent show "American Idol," her publicist confirmed.

Beckham would join judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the panel that this week shed longtime judge Paula Abdul, Sky News reported.

Both Sky News and People magazine report that Beckham wasn't interested in a more permanent assignment because she's overseeing her clothing line.

Beckham moved to the United States two years ago with her husband, soccer great David Beckham, who plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy.
