NEW YORK, July 30 (UPI) -- Green Day and P!nk have agreed to perform at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in New York, organizers said Thursday.

In addition, Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and "Gossip Girl" leading man Chace Crawford are the first presenters confirmed for the show. As previously announced, Russell Brand will serve as host, and Taylor Swift and Muse are set to perform.

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards show is scheduled to air live Sept. 13.

Additional performers, nominees and presenters will be announced at a later date, MTV said.

"Last year, I got to jump out of a window at the VMAs in Los Angeles," P!nk said in a statement. "This year, I can't wait to blow the roof off Radio City in New York."

"We are excited to be performing at the Video Music Awards," added Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. "You never know what's going to happen, and it's always a memorable experience for us."
