Still no verdict in Spector trial

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles jury in record producer Phil Spector’s murder trial failed to reach a verdict Monday -- its 10th day of deliberations.

The panel may be focusing on testimony given by Spector’s driver, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday. Adriano DeSouza testified he saw the famed music producer holding a bloody gun in his hand and heard Spector say, "I think I killed somebody" on the 2003 night Lana Clarkson died of a gunshot wound at Spector’s Los Angeles-area mansion.

Specifically what the jury discussed Monday behind closed doors remains a mystery. However, the panel did request a video player and defense attorney Bradley W. Brunon told reporters the only video in evidence was of DeSouza, the chauffeur who drove Spector and Clarkson to Spector's home the night of the shooting.

Prosecutors argued that Spector told DeSouza he killed Clarkson. However, the defense tried to undermine DeSouza's testimony by questioning his skill in English, The Times said.

The jury deliberated all day Monday and will return Tuesday morning.
