NEW YORK, March 25 (UPI) -- Singer/songwriter Elton John turned 60 on Sunday after a birthday celebration held at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York.

Saturday night's party included guests like Billie Jean King, Pierce Brosnan, Bette Midler, James Blunt, Diane Sawyer, Emma Thompson, Donatella Versace, Michael Stripe, Rod Stewart and of course, John's partner, David Furnish, the New York Daily News reported.

The party consisted of 40 tables for the 500 guests, with each table decorated with white linen tablecloths and several thousand dollars worth of crystal, silverware and Veuve Clicquot champagne.

On the menu was "cream less spring sweet pea and tarragon soup with buttery croutons, Niman Ranch bacon and crispy shallots, pot pie of roasted blue foot chicken and sticky toffee pudding."

But, that's not all, the singer is preparing for an anniversary concert at New York's Madison Square Garden, also in celebration of his 60th birthday, the BBC said.

It will be his John's 60th appearance at Madison Square Garden.
