Boney models give Winslet the willies

LONDON, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Shaming the trend of skeletal stars and models, English actress Kate Winslet says enough is enough and has refused to have magazines in her home.

Winslet says the disturbing phenomenon of these size-zero women has forced her to ban magazines in her house because of the damaging effect it could have on her 6-year-old daughter, Mia.

Speaking on BBC's One's Sunday AM, Winslet said, "It's only a matter of time before (her daughter) becomes aware of it and it and frightens the life out of me."

Winslet, who calls herself a "normal person," said she admires actresses Emma Thompson and Merrill Streep because "their faces move," a slam at other stars who no longer exhibit facial expressions because of plastic surgical and other efforts to look young.

"I'm a normal person; I'm doing all right; I've got a lovely husband and children and I didn't lose weight to find those things," Winslet told the BBC.
