Diddy joins the Burger King round table

MIAMI, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Sean "Diddy" Combs has signed on with Burger King as an all-around ambassador for the U.S. fast-food chain.

Burger King announced Monday that the corporation and the rap impresario would be joined at the hip under the multi-year contract that has Burger King sponsoring Diddy's current tour and the artist appearing in an upcoming ad campaign.

"We expect this to be a rich, long-term relationship that is wide open in terms of Diddy's contributions as a Burger King brand ambassador," said Russ Klein, the head of the Miami-based company's marketing efforts.

The relationship makes its public debut this month with the launch of the "DiddyTV" channel on the popular Web site YouTube, which is in the process of being acquired by Google and has signed content deals with some major providers.

"DiddyTV" will offer access to Diddy's new album "Press Play," which comes out Oct. 17. Burger King will have a branded presence at his appearances and other events connected to the album release.
