BOSTON, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry considers Motley Crue to be an exciting U.S. touring partner for three months.
The two bands, who began their joint tour on September 5, both established reputations for multi-platinum selling hard rock and heavy duty rock 'n' roll debauchery.
Each has captured its turbulent past in books -- Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" and Motley Crue's "The Dirt," which is being developed into a feature film.
But Perry assures fans that these days "they can count on seeing the bands play, not fall off the stage. It's kind of cool that we've gone through all that and got all this under our belts, and the fans are gonna get the benefit of ... the good times we're enjoying now."
The Aerosmith/Motley Crue tour winds up November 24 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Aerosmith -- whose bassist, Tom Hamilton, is sitting out the early weeks of the tour due to throat cancer treatments -- has two new songs and a greatest hits album called "Devil's Got a New Disguise," which comes out in October.
