NEW YORK, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A Broadway production of "Grease" is set to feature two leads chosen from the upcoming U.S. reality TV series "You're the One That We Want."
NBC is teaming with BBC Worldwide Productions to create the new mid-season reality series in which Americans will compete for a chance to fill the roles of Sandy and Danny in the 2007 revival of the popular musical, Playbill.com said.
"The winning appeal of 'Grease' and its timeless score and storyline extends across all generations and will make for a fantastic series. Americans have grown up with these catchy tunes and appealing characters and we think they'll love the chance to select the next dynamic duo to play Sandy and Danny," NBC Entertainment exec Craig Plestis said.
The Web site said judging the would-be Broadway thespians will be the future production's director, Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall, along with producer David Ian and Jim Jacobs, one of the original minds behind "Grease."
