TAIPEI, Taiwan, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Elton John reportedly shouted insults at photographers and TV crews as they mobbed the British entertainer when he arrived in Taiwan for a concert.

John called the media "rude, vile pigs" as he left the Chiang Kai Shek airport in Taipei late Wednesday, Britain's Telegraph reported Thursday.

"Rude, vile pigs! Do you know what that means? Rude, vile pigs. That's what all of you are," John reportedly yelled to the reporters who swarmed around the singer.

When one of the photographers shouted back: "Why don't you get out of Taiwan?," and John yelled more rude comments.

"We'd love to get out of Taiwan if it's full of people like you. Pig! Pig!" he said.

John was scheduled to leave the country after he performs his first Taiwanese concert Thursday.

He recently performed in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
