Fox's '24' regulars cut to guest spots

LOS ANGELES, May 24 (UPI) -- Several regular "24" cast members received news their characters would be reduced to guest spots next season on the Fox TV drama.

Reiko Aylesworth and James Badge Dale, who play Counter Terrorism Unit members Michelle Dessler and Chase Edmunds, have been told they would return to the drama as guest stars in the fall, sources said in Monday's Hollywood Reporter.

Carlos Bernard, who portrays CTU's Tony Almeida, also has been demoted from his regular cast spot.

The futures of Mary Lynn Rajskub, Zachary Quinto, Daniel Dae Kim, who have recurring roles in "24," are also in question.

In related news, actress Elisha Cuthbert, who plays Jack Bauer's daughter and CTU analyst Kimberly Bauer, is considering film offers, which may make her appearance on the drama subject to availability, the Reporter said.
