Ailing Ozzy misses another Ozzfest

SEATTLE, July 13 (UPI) -- An ailing Ozzy Osbourne missed a second consecutive Ozzfest performance this weekend.

The godfather of heavy metal blew his voice out during the closing set in San Francisco on Tuesday, forcing him to bow out of Wednesday's rockfest in Sacramento as well as Saturday's concert in Seattle, according to his official Web site.

Osbourne is expected to rejoin the tour for its next stop, which is Tuesday in Albuquerque.

About 12,000 to 15,000 people attended Saturday's 14-hour metal marathon at the White River Ampitheater outside of Seattle, the Post-Intelligencer reported Sunday.

Fans started to boo Ozzy during the set by Disturbed, which led to a stern lecture from lead singer Dave Draiman.

"That man is the godfather of heavy metal, and he has fallen ill," Draiman bellowed. The Post-Intelligencer said he then led the audience in a pro-Ozzy chant.
