'Hulk" bootlegger wears green to court

NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- A New Jersey man wearing a green suit admitted to a District Court judge he pirated a copy of "The Hulk."

Kerry Gonzalez, 24, was convicted Wednesday of copyright infringement for uploading a copy of the film featuring the green superhero to an Internet chat room two weeks before it opened in theaters.

The prosecution said the Internet exposure was "to the substantial economic detriment of Universal," which went on to open the film on 3,500 screens.

Gonzalez said he obtained the video from a friend of a friend who worked in an advertising agency, the New York Times reported.

Copyright infringement is a felony, which carries a maximum sentence of 12 months in jail. Gonzalez will be sentenced in September and currently is free on bond.
