GenDyn wins $52M Navy contract for IT support

General Dynamics Information Technology has been given a contract to support the U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command.

Aug. 25 (UPI) -- General Dynamics Information Technology is to provide cyber-security and IT support to the U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command.

The work comes under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a five-year value of about $52 million, the company announced on Thursday.

"General Dynamics has a highly experienced team who understands IT architecture, engineering and meteorology, oceanographic and geospatial data," Marcus Collier, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's Health and Civilian Solutions division, said in a press release. "We will continue our longstanding partnership with the U.S. Navy to provide predictive and current data, information and services that enables them to operate safely and effectively across the complete range of military operations."

The command, with Navy Information Forces, provides Physical Battlespace Awareness data and services to the U.S. Navy and joint forces.

General Dynamics has provided full-spectrum information technology and support services for the U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command for more than 25 years.
