Lockheed Martin said Information Systems Support Services was an indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity "cost plus fixed fee contract established by the U.S. Joint Forces Command, under which task orders will be issued."

"The contract has a one-year base and four additional one-year option periods. Work is expected to begin on Oct. 5, 2007," the company said.

"The Information Systems Support Services contract was designed to provide the Joint Forces Command with mission support through the planning, design, development, integration, installation, production engineering, and operations of their Information Technology. Services to be provided under the contract will include support for network operations and systems, customer training, video teleconferencing, and database development and administration," Lockheed Martin said.

"We are very excited to have been chosen for this contract and look forward to a great working relationship with the Joint Forces Command. We have committed to bring the best possible IT solutions in support of the Command, ensuring effectiveness and efficiencies across all facets of our contract work," said Steve Lubniewski, president of Lockheed Martin’s Enterprise Solutions & Services company.

Belvoir, Va., and Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., and the command's liaison officers at the Pentagon and in Washington, D.C., the company said.

U.S. Joint Forces Command is one of the U.S. Department of Defense's nine combatant commands and is tasked with transforming the U.S. military’s capabilities. The command is based near Hampton Roads, Va., and has more than 1.16 million troops.
