The equipment will be installed by Thales onto two frigates being built for the Indonesian Navy, Thales said, and first delivery of its mission system components will take place at the end of next year.

Thales said it will also increase its existing industrial cooperation with PT LEN Industri of Indonesia, which will develop part of the combat management system software suite. Local Indonesian industry will also be involved with service support for the equipment.

"This agreement strengthens the decades-long relationship between the Indonesian navy and Thales," said Gerben Edelijn, chief executive officer of Thales Nederland. "It further highlights our ability and know-how to involve the local industry in the transfer of technology and be a supplier or choice to a demanding world-class navy."
