AECOM venture supports military facilities

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- An AECOM joint venture will perform base operations support at seven U.S. Department of Defense installations in Illinois and Iowa.

AECOM, in announcing the award, said the majority of the work will be performed under the five-year contract at the 946-acre Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois.

Services to be provided include public works support for the arsenal's hydroelectric plant, steam generating plant and natural gas boilers, facilities engineering administration; water and sanitary sewage systems; government bridge operations; electrical distribution systems; water treatment and distribution, sanitary sewage and storm water drainage systems.

Buildings and structures on the facility, including personnel housing, are also covered, as well as a variety of unscheduled services, the company said.

The contract is worth $109 million.

Additional details weren't provided by the company, which specializes in professional, technical and management support services for public and private clients around the world.
