AECOM to clean up military bases

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- U.S. military facilities throughout the Pacific region are to receive environmental remediation services from AECOM Technology Corp.

AECOM, a provider of professional technical and management support services, said the contract it received for environmental cleanup was issued by the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific.

It is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award with a one-year base period of performance and four one-year options. Its total value if all options were exercised would be as much as $85 million.

"Under the Comprehensive Long-Term Environmental Action Navy contract, which is worth up to $85 million, AECOM may provide environmental technical and engineering services at various installations principally in Hawaii and Guam and throughout the NAVFAC Pacific region," it said.

Other details of the contract and services it expects to provide weren't disclosed.

Guam is a U.S. territory 3,300 miles west of Hawaii. It is the location of a major U.S. Air Force base and Navy base.
