SAIC-equipped C2 center opens in Jordan

MCLEAN, Va., May 2 (UPI) -- A new command-and-control center for the military of Jordan is in operation with assistance of U.S company Science Applications International Corp.

SAIC designed and equipped the command-and-control center under a two-year contract, which included system upgrades for the Jordanian armed forces command, control, communications, computers and intelligence systems for the country's Joint Special Operations Command.

"We are honored to be part of this very important milestone," said Tom Baybrook, president of SAIC's Defense Solutions Group. "SAIC's C4I engineering and integration capabilities will enhance JAF JSOCOM's mission effectiveness in theater."

SAIC said the C4I upgrades streamlined Joint Special Operations Command's ability to communicate and control military units in the field during operations.

The official opening of the center last months was attended by King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein.
