Alion to conduct M&S training for Army

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has awarded Alion Science and Technology a contract for the company to provide training services for ongoing modeling and simulation needs.

U.S. company Alion received the contract from the Army Modeling and Simulation Office as part of an effort to create a fully trained Army modeling and simulation community.

Under the $3.3 million task order, Alion will provide training support services along with geospatial analysis and other technical research and assessment requirements.

"The Army has a goal to use modeling and simulation routinely at all levels by 2016 for such activities as decision-making, mission planning, training, research and operations," Timer Keenan, Alion senior vice president and manager of the Strategic Operations Group, said in a statement.

"Alion's experts will help Army Modeling and Simulation Office by developing and supporting solutions to ensure modeling and simulation integration across the Army."
