U.S. bobsledder Lolo Jones released from quarantine

Lolo Jones was every athlete's worst fear the first week of the Olympics.

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- U.S. bobsledder Lolo Jones has just been released from quarantine after suffering from cold symptoms.

In a tweet Monday morning Jones said, "Just released ... been in quarantine room in Olympic village. Single room was nice just wish I had one of those stray dogs to keep me company." U.S. bobsled officials are not worried as official training doesn't begin until Friday, and the first two heats are Feb. 18. They just wanted her to rest and avoid getting other athletes sick.

A forlorn-looking Jones was pictured in U.S. ice dancer Alex Shibutani's selfie tweet with Shibutani maintaining minimum safe distance.

It's not surprising that athletes are so paranoid. Something like that could spread quickly through the Olympic village.
