Lucy Hale's debut single tops iTunes country chart

The "Pretty Little Liars" star released her first-ever single on Tuesday.

Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale, who won a People's Choice Award Wednesday night, also made her musical debut this week. The 24-year-old actress-turned-singer released her first-ever single on Tuesday, a country-pop ditty called "You Sound Good To Me," and it's already made its way to the top of of iTunes' country chart.

Hale, who has described her sound as "Taylor Swift/Carrie Underwood-ish hybrid," even got Swift to co-direct her music video.

Hale told E! News that "the response, for the most part has been just really welcoming."

"People are a little like confused by it, but it's been really awesome," she added.

Hale, who hits Good Morning America Friday, will also be performing on country music's greatest stage next month.

"This is literally a dream wk for me," Hale tweeted Thursday. "Just got word that I will be performing at the grand ole Opry @opry on feb 21 ...I cannot believe this."
