Carmen Electra wants her fans to feel empowered while listening to her new single "WERQ."

While speaking to OK! magazine about her new track, the 41-year-old model described it as "part pop, dance, electro."

“Self-empowerment and empowering others [inspired the song]. Taking what you got and making it WERQ!” she told the magazine.

"My plan is to finish the album and in between that, shoot the new video for WERQ, and I will be popping up and performing the new material," she said. "[You can expect to hear] more fun, uplifting songs that you can dance to with a positive message.”

Electra began her singing career in 1991 when then-boyfriend Prince helped her write and produce her debut album Carmen Electra. She said that while she credits him with launching her career, the two rarely speak anymore.

“No [we don’t stay in touch], but I will always have gratitude toward him for believing in me as an artist and giving me the opportunity to spend every day playing at Paisley Park studios, which was like the Willy Wonka of music, performance, and creativity,” she gushed.

“I felt like I had been given the golden ticket to the chocolate factory!” she added.
