Harry Potter play on the way

J.K. Rowling will collaborate with a playwright to produce a play about the early years of Harry Potter.

Harry Potter is headed to the West End.

J.K Rowling will collaborate a playwright for a stage show exploring the boy wizard's younger years which is expected to debut within two years.

Rowling said she approved the show after she was approached by Book of Mormon producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender with "the only one that really made sense to me, and which had the sensitivity, intensity and intimacy I thought appropriate for bringing Harry’s story to the stage."

"After a year in gestation, it is very exciting to see this project moving onto the next phrase," Rowling said.

Warner Bros., which produced the eight Harry Potter films, will be involved in the development of the show.
