Dec. 18 (UPI) -- "I've never been ignored these many times ever," Steve Harvey said when he and President Barack Obama lined up to surprise tourists taking a tour of the White House.

"Let's go spread some Christmas cheer," Obama said when Harvey proposed a seemingly impromptu visit with White House tourists, who normally line up in the cold to take the official tour, but rarely see the president.

Most of the tourists were so surprised to see Obama that they barely noticed Harvey standing right next to him.

“They just can’t see you behind the decorations,’’ the president joked.

You've got ears just like me," he told one boy, who gleefully nodded. "That gives you some special power."

The full interview will air Friday on Harvey's syndicated talk show,
