Jennifer Nettles performs in Nashville, ahead of solo album release

(UPI) -- Jennifer Nettles and a few of her friends took the stage Sunday at Marathon Music Works in Nashville for a preview of her debut solo album That Girl.

Richard Marx and Will Hoge, two of Nettles' co-writers, hopped on stage Sunday to sing "Know You Wanna Know," and "Strong," alongside her.

The country singer has said the record will be full of diverse influences and inspiration. The album will be "a little country, a little soul and a 100 percent honest."

The 39-year-old singer is set to release That Girl on January 14. The lead single -- also titled "That Girl" -- is available on iTunes now.
