(UPI) -- If Philadelphia's PYT restaurant wanted to attract more customers and name recognition with a deep-fried Twinkie burger, it succeeded. The Northern Liberties eatery is garnering national headlines for its heart-palpitating combination of pork-belly patty, American cheese and bacon sandwiched in between two battered and deep-fried Twinkies.

"We are really sorry about this, but someone had to do it," PYT explained on Facebook, where it's been gleefully posting photos and videos of customers experiencing the fatty concoction.

According to CBS Philadelphia, this isn't the first time PYT has offered up unusual burgers. They've sold a Szechuan Lamb Burger made of sticky rice buns a a Donut Burger with donut buns.

Facebook reactions ranged from enthusiastic to disgusted.

"I've been told that it tastes like the tears of starving African children," wrote one user.

"It had to be done," wrote another.
