Katy Perry sings 'Roar,' 'Walking On Air' on 'SNL' [VIDEO]

Katy Perry went for literal interpretations of her singles "Roar" and "Walking On Air" for "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend.

While Miley Cyrus graced "Saturday Night Live" last week with two toned-down performances of "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball," chart-topping rival Katy Perry stuck with the colorful costumes and motifs that are her signature.

Unlike Cyrus, who both hosted and sang last weekend, Perry didn't appear in any of Saturday's sketches. Instead, the 28-year-old musician reserved her acting skills for performances of the smash hit "Roar" and her new single "Walking On Air."

For "Roar," currently sitting in the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, Perry and her backing band wore animal-themed outfits and costumes on a set decorated with jungle-themed greenery.

Later, Perry changed into a plaid mini-skirt to sing her nineties-style dance track "Walking On Air" with a troupe of dancers wearing white spandex. They waved translucent sheets around the stage to mimic wind movements.
