Ditching the skimpy outfits, oversized teddy bears and oddball dance numbers that have characterized previous performances of her two singles, Miley Cyrus sang pared-down versions of "Wrecking Ball" and "We Can't Stop" on "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend.
The 20-year-old singer and second-time "SNL" host referenced her provocative pop career during skits, but wore relatively tame outfits for her musical sets.

Cyrus first performed "Wrecking Ball" with a band, backup singers and what Rolling Stone called " power-ballad intensity." Later -- with nary a stuffed animal in sight -- Cyrus sat on a stool for slowed-down version of "We Can't Stop," backed by three acoustic guitars.
