Nina Davuluri dips in Atlantic ocean

Nina Davuluri, Miss America 2014, took the traditional dip in the Atlantic Ocean Monday morning in Atlantic City.

While appearing on ABC's "Good Morning America," the 24-year-old model told the audience she was honored to have the opportunity to be an ambassador for the "Children's Miracle Network Hospital," adding it has always been her dream to be a physician.

The former Miss New York, who is of Indian descent, was crowned Miss America 2014 on Sunday night prompting several social media users to go on a twitter rage over her ethnicity.

The Syracuse, New York native is the first Indian American woman to receive the crown. She plans to use the $50,000 scholarship that came with her victory to apply for medical school.
