Jet overshoots runway at Minn. airport

The pilots of a corporate jet that overran the runway were uninjured Monday after crashing through a fence and coming to a stop along the road next to the suburban Minneapolis, Minn., airport.

Metropolitan Airports Commission spokeswoman Melissa Scovronski said the two pilots of the Embraer Phenom 300 were uninjured after their bumpy landing at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie.

Flying Cloud Drive, where the plane came to a stop, shortly before 9 a.m. was closed after the crash, and reopened shortly before 3 p.m., Eden Prairie police said.

There were two crew but no passengers aboard the aircraft, which took off from Pittsburgh around 7:30 a.m., said the aircraft's owner, Flight Options of Cleveland.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
