Chaz Bono's very public weight loss journey has reached an important milestone. Bono, a former competitor on "Dancing with the Stars," announced his goal in November to drop 50 pounds -- and he has met his goal and more.
With the help of "The Doctors" co-host Dr. Travis Stork, Bono has dropped 60 pounds, from 250 to a much healthier 190.
Stork recommended he drop 50 to 80 pounds.
Bono, born Chastity to Sonny and Cher Bono, announced in June 2010 he was undergoing female-to-male gender reassignment.
Bono, 44, attributed his weight loss to healthier eating habits.
"Diets don't work," he told People. "You just have to change what you eat, and I have."
"I really avoid grains and starches, so meats and vegetables and fruits are my diet," he said. "I make them all different ways to keep it interesting."
