British pop star Joss Stone told a court she was surprised when police showed up at her door on June 13, 2011, to tell her two men had been arrested for allegedly planning to kill her.

"Apart from someone coming around to say someone is trying to kill me, it was a really nice day," Stone, whose real name is Jocelyn Stoker, said.

The trial of Kevin Liverpool, 35, and Junior Bradshaw, 32, began this week with testimony from their alleged target. Liverpool and Bradshaw were arrested driving slowly around the neighborhood where Stone's home is located in Devon, England, with a Samurai sword in the trunk of their car and written plans to decapitate the singer and dump her body in a river.

Stone, 25, described living with relatively lax security before the 2011 incident.

"I've lived in Devon for a long time and nobody really shuts their door," she said. "I had an alarm but I did not really turn it on very much. I didn't really have a lock on my door. But I do now."

Stone said her security company had not received any threats.

Liverpool and Bradshaw were arrested after neighbors spotted them slowly circling Stone's neighborhood in their car. Prosecutors told the court the men studied one of Stone's former residences, which had been featured on an episode of MTV's "Cribs."

The men were arrested for possession of offensive weapons, but prosecutors upgraded the charges to conspiracy to rob and murder after studying what they say were Liverpool and Bradshaw's plans.

Prosecutor Simon Morgan described the notes found in the vehicle, which reportedly said "Jocelyn RIP" and "Once Jocelyn's dead... find a river to dump her."

The suspects were reportedly upset over Stone's association with the Royal family, having attended the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton, now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Morgan said.

"Joss Stone associates with members of the Royal Family; her concerts have been attended by members of that family and she was invited to the royal wedding at the very end of April that year," Morgan explained. "Hence, the Crown say, she was a target."

One note, Morgan said, described the Queen as a "she-devil."

"But she likes Joss Stone. Where's the sense in that?"
