June 28 (UPI) -- Filmmaker Patty Jenkins has posted on Twitter the first photo of Kristen Wiig in upcoming DC superhero sequel, Wonder Woman 1984.

Wiig is set to portray the central villain in the sequel, Cheetah. The most famous version of the character was introduced in 1987 and involved wealthy anthropologist Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva having her appearance completely change to that of a cheetah during an expedition in Africa.

The transformation grants her superhuman speed and strength.

"Enter Barbara Minerva... #WW84," Jenkins captioned the image, which features Wiig exploring what appears to be a natural history museum with animal exhibits on display.

Wonder Woman 1984 will also feature Gal Gadot once again in the title role along with Pedro Pascal in a key role and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. Pine's involvement remains a mystery as Steve Trevor died in the ending of the first film.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set to arrive in theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
