June 4 (UPI) -- Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo enter into a life of crime in the first trailer for upcoming thriller, Widows.

The clip, released Monday, features Liam Neeson as Davis' husband who, along with fellow spouses played by Jon Bernthal and others, are killed during a robbery.

The women, now left alone and with families to take care of, devise a criminal plan in order to pay back the money their husbands owed to a group of dangerous individuals.

"No one thinks we have the balls to pull this off," Davis says while meeting with her fellow widows.

"If this whole thing goes wrong, I want my kids to know that I didn't just sit there and take it. I did something," Rodriguez says.

Widows, from Academy Award winning director Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave), is set to arrive in theaters on Dec. 6. Colin Farrell, Lukas Haas, Robert Duvall, Carrie Coon, Andre Holland and Daniel Kaluuya also star.
