Panama seizes boat loaded with drugs

PANAMA CITY, Panama, March 20 (UPI) -- Panamanian authorities seized more than 21 tons of cocaine that was being transported in a boat off the Central American country's Pacific coast.

The 21.4 ton haul was one of the largest drug seizes at sea, El Siglo newspaper reported Tuesday.

Panamanian police, along with U.S. Drug Enforcement agents, confiscated the drugs and the vessel during the weekend and arrested a dozen men, a police official said.
