June 25 (UPI) -- Nick Kyrgios has been fined nearly $18,000 after miming masturbation with his water bottle during the Queen's Club Championships in London.

The No. 19 player in the world performed the gesture during his loss to Marin Cilic in a semifinal matchup on Saturday at Queen's Club.

BBC cameras panned over to Kyrgios as he was sitting in his chair while the players were switching ends of the court. He held the bottle between his legs before shaking it and spraying out water, while making expressions with his face.

He then sipped out of the bottle before resuming the match.

Kyrgios lost the match 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (4). Cilic went on to win the final against Novak Djokovic 5-7, 7-6, 6-3 on Sunday.

The 23-year-old received a fine of $17,500 for "inappropriate behavior," according to the Telegraph and TMZ Sports. Kyrgios was fined early this year for yelling a profanity at a fan at the Australian Open. He was also docked in 2015 by the ATP for comments he made toward Stan Wawrinka.

The Aussie has never won a Grand Slam. His lone title this year came at the Brisbane International on Jan. 7 at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Brisbane, Australia.

Kyrgios referenced the incident Sunday on Twitter in a response to another tweet. A Twitter user sent him a video of a hockey player performing a similar gesture and said he wasn't fined.

"It is what it is," Kyrgios tweeted.
