Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Longtime NBA agent Dan Fegan died in a car crash on Sunday near Aspen, Colo. He was 56-years-old.
The Colorado State Police said that Fegan tried to merge his SUV onto a highway before a commuter bus hit him, according to multiple reports. Fegan's 5-year-old son and a 29-year-old woman were also injured in the crash and were flown to a Denver hospital.
Fegan split with the Independent Sports & Entertainment agency in March, according to the Denver Post. He represented elite clients such as John Wall, Dwight Howard, DeMarcus Cousins, Nene and Ricky Rubio.
Several big-name NBA personalities spoke about the loss of Fegan Monday on social media. NBA veteran Drew Gooden posted a photo of Fegan on Twitter Sunday. The photo included their sons playing in the snow.
"I can't believe we took this picture yesterday with our kids and now your gone," Gooden wrote. "Rest In peace, Dan Fegan. Your spirit will always be in Aspen!"

Fegan was named one of Forbes' top sports agents in 2016, listing him as responsible for more than $582.7 million in contracts for 17 clients, including Chandler Parsons.
"I can't believe you are gone," Parsons tweeted. "I am forever grateful for what you did for me and will never forget that. This isn't fair but i know you are in a better place and we will have a glass of red again someday. #RipDanFegan."
