Damian Lillard on LeBron James: 'People can't admit someone is better than Jordan even if they are'

Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard had an interesting response when a Twitter user asked him if LeBron James was better than Michael Jordan.

He didn't exactly say yes or no, but he did offer a unique insight into the tired debate.

"You think Bron has a shot to become the GOAT [greatest of all time]?" the Twitter user asked.

"I don't think ppl will ever be able to admit someone is better than Jordan even if they are lol," Lillard tweeted Wednesday.

While both players are undoubtedly two of the best basketball players of all time, Jordan homers will point to his 6-for-6 record in the NBA Finals when discussing which player is better. James has three wins and five losses in the NBA Finals, including last year's defeat to the Golden State Warriors.

James, 32, has averaged 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7 assists through 14 NBA seasons. Jordan averaged 30.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists through 14 seasons.

"His Airness" was a 14-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA selection, 10-time NBA scoring champion, nine-time All-Defensive team selection, six-time NBA Finals MVP and five-time NBA MVP winner.

"King James" is a 13-time All-Star, 13-time All-NBA selection, six-time All-Defensive team selection, four-time NBA MVP, three time NBA champion and three-time NBA Finals MVP. James had the league scoring title in 2007-2008.

Jordan began his career at 21 years old and retired after playing the 2002-2003 season with the Washington Wizards at age 39. James began his NBA career at 19 years old and has played 38.9 minutes per game during his career, while Jordan played 38.3 minutes per game. James has already logged more than 41,200 minutes during his sensational professional basketball career, while Jordan clocked in at just over 41,000 minutes during his tenure.
