Nike unveils new Kobe shoes, Bryant hiding autographed kicks

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and Nike took to Periscope to launch a new pair of signature shoes.

The Kobe 11 shoes release on Jan. 9 and cost $200. Along with the reveal, Bryant said he would be hiding 20 pairs of autographed sneakers around the world. Bryant or Nike will put out clues on social media about where to find the shoes.

"There will be questions that pose as clues," Bryant said. "Some of the questions will be kind of standard stuff – growing up questions and stuff like that. Others will be centered around innovation. It's important for them to really understand the product."

The scavenger hunt is set for Dec. 22.

Bryant, 37, is averaging 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 21 games this season for the 3-21 Lakers.
