Tom Brady makes first public appearance since four-game suspension

By The Sports Xchange

Tom Brady was a surprise guest at the New England Patriots' Hall of Fame induction ceremony Monday night in Foxborough, Mass., making his first public appearance since the four-game suspension for his role in the "Deflategate" scandal was upheld.

The three-time Super Bowl MVP paid tribute to a former Patriots teammate, running back Kevin Faulk, who was being inducted into the team's Hall of Fame. Brady unzipped his jacket as he walked onstage to reveal he was wearing Faulk's No. 33 jersey.

It was a nod to Faulk wearing Brady's jersey onstage at last April's NFL Draft as Faulk was announcing the Patriots' third-round pick.

"Thank you, guys, for supporting him. Thank you, guys, for supporting us. We have the best fans in the world," Brady said to the crowd.

Brady's request to have his case reheard by the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was denied July 13.

The Second Circuit court reinstated the NFL's four-game ban of Brady on April 25 after it was originally overturned by Judge Richard M. Berman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Sept 3, 2015.

Brady will miss the Patriots' first four games against the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills.

He is eligible to return from his suspension for New England's game against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 9.
