NHL: San Jose 2, Chicago 1 (SO)

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Joe Pavelski scored in regulation and added another goal during a shootout Saturday, sending the San Jose Sharks past struggling Chicago 2-1.

Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton also beat Corey Crawford in the tiebreaker to help end the Sharks' three-game losing streak.

Antti Niemi made 29 saves to earn the victory.

Brandon Saad got the only regulation goal for the Blackhawks, who stumbled to their fifth loss in six games.

Crawford finished with 38 saves.
