NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 99, Brooklyn 94

NEW YORK, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Steve Blake gave Los Angeles a 3-point lead with 8 seconds left Wednesday and the Lakers survived a Brooklyn rally to down the Nets 99-94.

Brooklyn spent the whole game fighting back from an early 27-point deficit and had a chance to tie it when Paul Pierce attempted a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining.

That try misfired, however, and Xavier Henry then hit two foul shots for the Lakers to account for the final score.

Nick Young had 26 points off the bench to lead the Lakers and Pau Gasol had 21 points and eight rebounds.

Mirza Teletovic scored a career-best 17 points for the Nets, who failed in their bid to win back-to-back games. It was the Nets' sixth setback in seven outings.

The Nets had been trying to defeat the Lakers in Los Angeles for the first time since 2007.
