PITTSBURGH, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Josh Bailey finished off a New York comeback with a deflection 1:40 from the final horn Friday, giving the Islanders a 4-3 win over Pittsburgh.
The Islanders overcame a one-goal deficit in the third period, fell behind again, then put on a late rush to snap a two-game skid. The Penguins have lost two straight after winning seven out of eight.
Frans Nielsen lifted the Islanders into a 2-2 tie with 7:14 remaining in regulation only to have Pittsburgh go back in front on a goal from Deryk Engelland 16 seconds later.
Pierre-Marc Bouchard once more created a tie game by putting a backhander past Jeff Zatkoff and Bailey brought the Islanders the win by tipping in a shot from Nielsen.
Evgeni Nabokov turned aside 39 shots in picking up the victory. Zatkoff, who allowed six goals to Florida in his NHL debut a week earlier, surrendered four more to the Islanders on 25 shots.
