PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Juan Lagares pounded a two-run triple during a big sixth inning that vaulted the New York Mets to a rain-shortened 5-4 win over Philadelphia.
The score was tied 1-1 leading off the sixth when Daniel Murphy socked a go-ahead solo homer against Phils starter Tyler Cloyd.
David Wright followed with a single and Lucas Duda was hit by a pitch before Lagares drove a 3-2 pitch all the way to the wall in center field, scoring both runners.
After Ethan Martin relived, Larages came home on a Travis d'Arnaud double for a 5-1 Mets lead.
The Mets would need those runs as Jimmy Rollins and Carlos Ruiz each delivered an RBI and Chase Utley scored on a wild pitch in the sixth before the game was halted in the seventh due to rain.
Dillon Gee (12-10) earned the decision despite yielding four runs on seven hits over six innings as the Mets clinched their three-game series.
Cloyd (2-6) ended up allowing five runs on six hits over five innings.
