SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Pekka Rinne stopped 26-of-27 shots and added three more saves in a shootout Saturday, carrying the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 decision over San Jose.

Rinne was working on a shutout until San Jose's Martin Havlat scored on a power play with 6 1/2 minutes remaining in regulation to tie it up at 1-1.

But he earned the victory in the tiebreaker, turning aside Michal Handzus, Ryane Clowe and Joe Pavelski while Craig Smith dented Antti Niemi for the Predators.

Sergei Kostitsyn scored in regulation for Nashville, which notched a second straight win.

Niemi made 23 stops for the Sharks, whose seven-game winning streak to start the season was snapped.
