MLB: Chicago White Sox 6, Minnesota 0

CHICAGO, May 23 (UPI) -- Chris Sale combined with two relievers on a four-hitter Wednesday, lifting the Chicago White Sox to a 6-0 victory over Minnesota.

Sale (5-2) allowed two hits, struck out six and walked two over seven innings to win his second straight start.

Jesse Crain and Matt Thornton worked an inning each to complete the shutout. The White Sox won for the fifth time in six games.

Alex Rios hit a two-run homer in the fourth that gave the White Sox a 3-0 lead and Paul Konerko had a solo shot in the seventh.

Scott Diamond (3-1) was charged with the loss, surrendering five runs on nine hits in six innings. Just two of the runs were earned.

Minnesota had won five of its previous six.
