MLB: Baltimore 8, Boston 2

BOSTON, May 5 (UPI) -- Mark Reynolds belted a three-run homer and Adam Jones added a two-run shot in the third inning Saturday, powering Baltimore to an 8-2 victory over Boston.

Nick Markakis and Wilson Betemit also drove in runs for the Orioles, who plated seven runs in their big third frame to put the contest away and clinched their three-game set at Fenway Park.

Josh Hammel (4-1) held the Bosox to two runs on four hits over 6 2/3 innings, fanning eight while issuing only one walk in the outing.

The O's, who hold second place in the American League East, won for the sixth time in seven games.

Boston's Aaron Cook (0-1), starting in place of the injured Josh Beckett, was lit up for seven runs (six earned) on eight hits over 2 2/3 innings.

Ryan Sweeney and Cody Ross drove in runs for the Red Sox, who dropped their fourth straight.
