LOS ANGELES, March 12 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis scored 21 points and the Golden State Warriors held off a comeback bid Sunday to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 97-93.
Ellis, who played nearly 43 minutes, also had 11 assists. Dorell Wright scored 20 points and David Lee notched 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors, who have won three of their last four games.
Blake Griffin finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds for LA. Griffin was 10-of-19 from the field but only 7-of-15 from the free throw line -- where the Clippers as a team converted 19-of-35 of opportunities.
Griffin sank one of two free throws with 2:36 to play to cut Golden State's lead to 85-84 but the Warriors responded with a 6-0 spurt that extended the lead back out to 90-84 with 1:19 remaining.
Chris Paul added 23 points and Randy Foye scored 16 for Los Angeles.
