PHILADELPHIA, March 2 (UPI) -- Lou Williams scored 25 points off the bench Friday, helping Philadelphia break things open in the fourth quarter on the way to a 105-83 win over Golden State.
The game came on the 50th anniversary of the most spectacular performance in the history of the NBA and the 76ers paid tribute to that event prior to Friday's game. Hall of Fame center Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points for Philadelphia against the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962.
The 76ers took a 10-point lead over the Warriors into the fourth quarter Friday and then outscored them 30-18 over the closing 12 minutes.
It was only the second win in eight games for Philadelphia, which holds a three-game lead over Boston at the top of the Atlantic Division.
Elton Brand added 14 points and 14 rebounds for the 76ers.
David Lee paced Golden State with 24 points and 15 rebounds. The Warriors played without Stephen Curry, who has a strained tendon in his right foot.
Philadelphia defeated the Warriors by a combined 50 points in their two meetings this season.
