LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A third straight huge game from Kobe Bryant Friday brought the Los Angeles Lakers a 97-90 win over Golden State.
Bryant scored 39 points, the third consecutive outing in which he has reached at least 30. Despite playing with an injured wrist, Bryant has produced 106 points in those three games.
He made 13-of-28 shots from the field against the Warriors and 12-of-14 from the foul line.
Los Angeles needed the effort since Golden State led early in the second half and was within three points in the final minute. Pau Gasol's free throw with 16 seconds remaining made it a two-possession game.
The Lakers climbed to 5-4 with Gasol adding 17 points and 11 rebounds. Matt Barnes scored 16.
Monta Ellis had 18 points and 10 assists off the bench for the Warriors, who have dropped four in a row and have only two victories this season.
